This game was interesting because the protaganist is against the religious teachings of the world.
And his group eventually proves those teachings wrong. It seems they took some ideas from scripture.

God's active force is known as holy spirit and it operates in all living things and keeps us alive.
once again, this idea was from holy scripture.
Skeleton/Undead/Dead soldiers - Ezekiel...
If you read the book in a fool's bible god's name is replaced with 'the lord'. Then when you read about the bones standing up and becoming a great military force it sounds a lot like many fantasies which feature monsters that are supposedly animated dead, animated by some sort of evil. In actuality the bones are good people and the lord is the one true god, Jehovah.

We can see that people indeed fear people serving the one true god, for example this explains why they have been thought to be spies while serving god in Russia.
